The Philips HeartStart FR2+ AED defibrillator is designed for easy, reliable use by BLS trained responders. Intuitive design, pad placement diagram, and a simple interface make this perfect for users in public spaces.

Two models (M3860A) / (M3861A) have the same basic features but the first has configurable ECG on-screen and Manual Mode.

Their rugged, weatherproof design protects the units from wet conditions and ease of use create a situation that supports better outcomes for cardiac patients. These tough, compact units are easy to use for BLS responders and help cardiac patients get critical prehospital treatment.

Features

  • AED Mode easily guides BLS users safely and effectively through the defibrillation process
  • M3860A offers configurable on-screen ECG and Manual Mode
  • Automatically analyzes the patient’s heart rhythm and advises the user whether or not the rhythm is shockable
  • Automatically arms the Shock button, when necessary, and instructs BLS user to press it to deliver a shock
  • AED & Manual Mode
  • Infrared (IR) communications port can transfer data directly to or from another device.
  • Tough and transport-ready for easy treatment of cardiac patients
  • Rugged, weatherproof design protects the unit when operating in wet conditions.
  • Data Card: 8 hrs ECG/event data
  • Patient data can be exported to a PC and analyzed, archived, or stored using CODERUNNER software on a compatible computer

Why choose A Biomedical Service as your Refurbishing Partner?

Beyond significant cost savings and a sound capital equipment investment strategy, A Biomedical Service believes your patients and medical staff deserve access to the highest quality, most reliable medical equipment. We're committed to delivering the level of excellence your facility needs to achieve its patient care and asset management goals.

We aren't simply your refurbishment company, we're your partners in managing capital equipment investment along every step of a piece of equipment's lifecycle.

Refurbished Equipment vs. Certified Used

What's the difference between a piece of used medical equipment that's been refurbished compared to one that's certified used?

Refurbished equipment and certified used equipment are both thoroughly cleaned and sterilized. Their sensitive data is properly disposed of and we make sure the equipment works the way the original manufacturer intended it to perform.

Refurbished Medical Equipment

A machine that's Refurbished goes through a rigorous process that takes each piece of equipment back to the original OEM specifications. Our in-house biomedical engineers are certified, experienced, and the best in the business.

Every item that needs to be restored is torn down to its component blocks, fully tested, and visually inspected. Using OEM parts, highly-trained Biomed engineers identify and replace components that have failed or are likely to fail. Think of it as a tuneup for used medical equipment.

If there's any damage to the case, it will be repainted or replaced. After reassembly, every unit is tested to make sure it meets stringent manufacturer requirements.

Certified Used Medical Equipment

Certified Used machines are also cleaned and sterilized. Their sensitive data is secured and legally disposed of. Our talented BMETs perform a series of thorough preventative maintenance procedures and test the units to make sure they meet OEM standards for operation. In this case, not all replacement parts may be OEM, however, the units will still reliably perform to original manufacturer specifications.

Need to sell your old medical equipment?

  • Depth: 8.6 in (21.8 cm)
  • Weight: 4.7 lbs (2.1 kg)

MODES

  • Semiautomatic/Advisory AED Mode: Provides BLS users with the necessary tools to provide lifesaving treatment, voice and message prompts help user through defibrillation process with ease. Not intended for pediatric/infant use.
  • Manual Mode: (M3860A) offers Manual Override Mode and configurable on-screen ECG display for more advanced Life Support users.

POWER

  • Internal Battery Type: Lithium Manganese Dioxide
  • Rechargeable: No; Disposable, recyclable, long-life, primary cell
  • Volatage: 12 VDC, 4.2 Ah
  • Capacity: 300 shocks or 12 hours operating time

DISPLAY

  • Type: High-resolution Backlit LCD
  • Screen Size: 2.3" x 2.8" (5.8 cm x 7 cm)
  • Sweep Speed (if available): 23 mm/s nominal
  • ECG Display: 3-second segments displayed (M3860A only)
  • Heart Rate Displayed: 30-300 bpm

DEFIBRILLATOR

  • Waveform: Biphasic truncated exponential. Waveform parameters are automatically adjusted as a functin of patient defibrillation impedance.
  • Energy:: Using Adult pads, 150 J nominal (Delivered into 50 ohm load; Using Pediatric pads, reduced energy, 50 J nominal (+/-15%) into 50 ohm load.)
  • Charge Time: Less than 10 seconds with a new fully charged battery. Depleted batteries will result in a longer defibrillator charge time.
  • Charge Control: Controlled by Patient Analysis System for semi-automatic operation. Can be programmed for manual initiation using advanced mode of the M3860A
  • Electric Pads: Adult defibrillator pads placed in the anterior-anterior (Lead II) position or FR2 infant/child reduced-energy defibrillator pads placed in the anteriorposterior position.
  • Manual Mode Charge Time: <5 sec

ECG MONITORING

  • Monitored Lead: ECG information transmitted via Lead II electrode
  • Pacemaker Detection: On detection of a pacemaker (in advanced mode only), provides screen display of PACEMAKER DETECTED alert, and M3860A includes pacemaker artifact in ECG display. In both models, pacemaker artifact is removed from the signal for rhythm analysis.
  • Bandwidth: Nondiagnostic rhythm monitor 1 Hz to 20 Hz (-3 dB), nominal
  • Function: Evaluates impedance of defibrillation pads for proper contact with patient skin, and evaluates the ECG rhythm and signal quality to determine if a shock is appropriate.
  • Protocols: Follows pre-programmed settings to match local EMS guidelines or medical protocols. The settings can be modified using the setup options.
  • Shockable Rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation (VF) and certain ventricular tachycardias, including ventricular flutter and polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (VT). The HEARTSTREAM FR2 uses multiple parameters to determine if a rhythm is shockable.
  • Asystole:On detection of asystole, provides CPR prompt at programmed interval.

DATA MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION

  • Internal Memory: Summary data for incidents is automatically recorded in internal memory while you're using the unit.
  • Data Card Slot: Can be used to store several hours of detailed incident data, including events and ECG
  • Capacity: Up to 8 hours of ECG and event data, or 60 min with voice recording.
  • Data Review: Stored data can be reviewed and archived on a properly equipped PC using CODERUNNER software. Works for both internal and externally stored patient data.
  • Communications: Infrared (IR) communications port. A special lens, or “eye,” is used to transfer data directly to or from another device.
